Cut Ribbons
Listen to new track ‘We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn’
Debut album We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn released August 21st via Kissability
Of the track, singer Aled Rees says: “We wrote this during a really sunny spell of weather and I think that’s what shaped the feel of the track. We come from a coastal town but the lyrics were written whilst I was in Tenby. In the van coming home from shows, seeing Mumbles lighthouse and the pier, only then it feels like we are almost home. It was something that factored into the imagery but not so much the narrative. We want to watch something we loved burn is just the personification of reckless abandoned, a pretty romantic notion to write about I think.”
Following festival dates at Field Day, Truck Festival and more, Cut Ribbons release their long-awaited debut album on August 21st via Kissability. Recorded in part with Rocky O’Reilly in Belfast and in Aled Rees’ own studio in Llanelli and mixed by Jeremy Murphy (Goldfrapp, Sam Smith), We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn is a collection of songs written by the band so far and perfectly showcases their innate pop sensibilities.
We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn is available to pre-order now via Kissability and released August 21st.
