Cash+David are streaming a new single, ‘Pains 4 U’, via The Fader. Featuring a guest verse from rising Atlanta MC Rome Fortune, the track is due for release through Columbia Records on October 30 2015. Speaking about the track, Liz Lawrence (David) and Tim Ross (Cash) say; ‘Pains 4 U is a hypnotic repent- a call for redemption after a colossal loss. It’s a mantra of contrition with the desire to pay off a debt of pain’.

‘Pains 4 U’ follows previous single ‘X’, which saw Cash+David collaborate with London video production collective Figure (Atoms For Peace, Ghostpoet) to both conceptualise and co-direct the immersive, strobe-lit accompanying video. This 360 degree approach is indicative of a meticulous process which extends far beyond the immaculate production of Cash+David’s bass-heavy, impulse-driven music, with Lawrence’s art school education informing a wider aesthetic, which is reflected across everything from the RGB Colour Model referencing artwork of early singles, to the project’s interlocking logo.

Cash+David originally emerged via a drip-feed of tracks from their self-released debut Triptych EP, which drew together Hype Machine-toppling singles ‘Funn’, ‘Pulse’ & BBC Introducing-playlisted ‘Bones’ alongside visuals by James Paul Willis (also behind videos for Disclosure & Katy B) and remix treatments from the likes of Peaking Lights, John Wizards and Daktyl.
