Le Butcherettes are giving fans an early preview of the music from the trio’s forthcoming album, A Raw Youth (released Sept. 18, via Ipecac Recordings), with a stream of the song “They F**k You Over” (  The song premiered on Sunday via BBC Radio One’s Rock Show with Daniel P Carter.

It’s really the story of the band,” Teri Gender Bender said of the new song. “Back in Guadalajara, there was so much corruption and jealousy in the music scene. We got stabbed in the back so many times. It was about how hard it is to start a band and keep true to your vision with everyone trying to hold you back.”

Le Butcherettes have released two albums, their 2011 debut Sin, Sin, Sin and the 2014 offering Cry Is For The Flies.

The band, rounded out by drummer Chris Common and bass player Jamie Aaron, recorded the album at RLP Studios (The Morgue Portable Disaster Unit) in El Paso, Texas.  Omar Rodriguez Lopez once again produced, as he has done for both previous Le Butcherettes’ releases.  Guests include Iggy Pop on “La Uva” and John Frusciante on “My Half.”

Le Butcherettes are currently on tour with the Melvins, performing at Santos Party House this evening:

She’s a star. It’s like a great character in a movie.  You want to know what happens when the movie is over. You want to know the rest of the story. – HENRY ROLLINS (LA TIMES INTERVIEW)

“[The] most volatile woman in rock” – LA WEEKLY
“Vocalist Teri Gender Bender leads a violent ride, exorcising demons along the way. ‘Burn The Scab’ is swampy, while ‘Poet From Nowhere’ recalls The Slits. Her snarling vocals and menacing bass from Roderiguez-Lopez underpin a record that’s deeper and more rewarding than a garage-rock album has any right to be.”NME
“A flair for punk theatrics”MOJO
“Gender Bender has found the perfect home on Mike Patton’s Ipecac imprint; a label that celebrates eclectic, daring, musically challenging artists that aren’t afraid to sporadically withdraw and show their soft side. Then, right when you most expect it, things get very uncomfortable again.”WONDERING SOUND
“Wildly unpredictable, ‘Cry Is For The Flies’ feels tense and beautifully dangerous, like someone who you know you should give a wide berth but can’t resist because they’re so utterly compelling. Intense.”WHISPERIN AND HOLLERIN
“So there was this band called At The Drive-In. Then they became The Mars Volta. Then they split and Omar the guitarist found a motley gang to form the strangely ace Bosnian Rainbows. Is there a point to this potted history of El Paso alt-rock? Yes! Cos Rainbows singer Teri Gender Bender has her own groovy little combo, and this is a jaunty sample of what they do (‘Demon Stuck In Your Eye’). In a desert-rocking, Yeah Yeah Yeahs-shaped, garage-punk way.”CLASSIC ROCK
