GREAT COLLAPSE announce debut album ‘Holy War’
Set for release on End Hits Records 2nd October, 2015
New track ‘New Abolition’ streaming now:

Set for release via End Hits Records on 2nd October, 2015, Great Collapse’s debut album ‘Holy War’ is fuelled by this project’s epic hardcore song writing and focused bright classic punk hooks. It will be available as limited vinyl, CD and download and the band are streaming the first cut from the record ‘New Abolition’ here.

This Song Is The First Chapter Of This Record, And Pushes Fast Past The Myths We Are Poisoned With About The Inevitability Of Violence, The Schadenfreude and RealPolitik of Hollow Leaders, Whispers and Documents Giving Away Love and Life On This Blue Planet. This Is Our Contribution, Our Small Peace Punk Bullet Aimed Between Our Heartbeats, Into The Belly Of This Monster That The Stories Of Powerless History Builds On The Backs Of Our Lives. These Humans, Animals, and Breathing Landscapes Are Not Our Enemy. We Build This Road By Walking On It. No Matter How Many Steps Or Lifetimes It May Take. New Abolition Is Only The Beginning.” – Thomas Barnett on ‘New Abolition’

Usually when a band pulls the “All Star” card it means that a bunch of washed up punks come together and bang out a few songs that are not good enough for their main bands. Luckily for us, Great Collapse have nothing to do with that kind of sad scene: Founded by Strike Anywhere singer Thomas Barnett when moving to the west coast (while his Richmond, VA based band took a well deserved break from recording and constant touring) Great Collapse quickly took on a life of its own. Barnett teamed up with former Rise Against guitarist Chris Chasse, Set Your Goals bass player Joe Saucedo and Comeback Kid drummer Kyle Profeta, self-producing and releasing a 6 track EP called ‘Elemental’. Right before entering the studio to record their first full length album Great Collapse added former Death By Stereo/Nations Afire drummer Todd Henning and second guitarist Tom Arnott (At Risk/Love Equals Death) to their ranks.

Lyrically, Barnett is touching on a more story-driven and conceptual field of ideas through this album, a gauntlet thrown down to challenge the post-modern ecological and spiritual apocalypse we are all living through. No matter if you look for the perfect hook or some inspiring lyrics that will get you through the day in this sometimes bleak and depressing world, Great Collapse are one of the few bands in our time that has both – the music AND the message.

Great Collapse will tour Europe with Boysetsfire, Silverstein, Rise Against, Refused, Matt Davies (Funeral For A Friend) and Antillectual in October 2015.
