Chet Faker’s collaboration with LA-based singer Banks just premiered on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music Beats 1 radio show. “1998 (feat. Banks)” can be heard now via Soundcloud, and purchased via iTunes. Impact date for “1998 (feat. Banks)” will be 4th September.

The original version of “1998” is one of the standout tracks from the singer/producer’s debut album Built On Glass (Future Classic / Opulent / Downtown). He performed the song for the Jimmy Kimmel Live! audience this spring, its video has been viewed over 4 million times via YouTube, and the audio has been streamed almost 5 million times via Soundcloud. Faker also released the 1998 – Melbourne Edition EP in conjunction with Record Store Day featuring remixes by his peers in the Melbourne house and techno scene.

Faker delivers the new version of “1998” having just completed an  UK & European tour, which included three sold out shows in Paris, two sold out shows in Lisbon, one sold out show in Glasgow and one sold out show in Utrecht. Plus performances at Glastonbury, Primavera, Berlin Festival, Field Day, NOS Alive, Parklife, Open’er, Best Kept Secret, Hurricane, Southside and Rock Werchter. Faker is just about to kick off his North American summer festival run which includes Lollapalooza Music & Arts Festival in Chicago, where fans can watch his set internationally via the Lollapalooza Livestream on Red Bull TV (1st August).

An artist of considerable range, Chet Faker—the name taken by Melbourne-raised, Brooklyn-based Nick Murphy—writes, performs and records all of his own music, giving it a warm, intimate feel with a solid groove structure. His critically acclaimed debut full length album Built On Glass was released on Downtown/Future Classic in the spring of 2014.

After being named to a number of “Best of 2014” lists, his popularity in the U.S. was cemented in 2015 with performances of his hit single “Gold” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January and Jimmy Kimmel Live!  in April. His video for “Gold” has also been viewed over 19 million times and was recently nominated for an MTV Video Music Award (“Best Choreography”).
