“Like an electropop haunted house.” 7/10, The 405

With their brand new record ‘Bones’ set for release this coming Monday June 22nd on Glassnote, SON LUX have shared the album in it’s impressive entirety and have also confirmed extensive European tour plans for later this year.

Currently amidst a behemoth US tour with Olga Bell, the trio have added to their existing summer UK festival & October headline tour & will bring their renowned live show to our shores numerous times throughout the second half of the year – details below.

This week the band unveiled their extraordinary new album, which can be heard in full at The Line of Best Fit (UK) and NPR (US).

A couple of weeks ago, Son Lux revealed the second song from their forthcoming album, Bones, entitled You Don’t Know Me’. Featuring guest vocals from Moses Sumney & Hanna Benn, the track is a loping, crescendo of a track engineered to be as hard-hitting as it is haunting.

After last month’s stunning stop-motion clip for Change is Everything, The Made Shop have a new video in the works for You Don’t Know Me – a trailer for which went online today: www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_jB46-2PGw

‘You Don’t Know Me’ is also available to hear on Soundcloud:

Bones is a call to action, a document of personal and collective uprising. Themes of metamorphosis resonate in architectural, vivid sound.

Founded by producer-composer Ryan Lott in 2007, Son Lux “works at the nexus of several rarely-overlapping Venn Diagrams” (Pitchfork). With the recent additions to the band of guitarist-composer Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang, Son Lux is now a ferocious trio both live and on record. Bones is the first album documenting this new formation, and it draws from the three members’ unique and omnivorous musical vernaculars. Few bands have built a more impressive and varied array of collaborators: LordeBeyoncé producer BootsSufjan Stevens, Matthew Dear, Busdriver, Vijay Iyer, Nico Muhly and Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw.
