YUKON BLONDE
COMO
(Dine Alone Records // Caroline UK)
“Their forthcoming album On Blonde has them expanding into a more sophisticated dance rock sound. Songs like “Como” and “Saturday Night” are euphoric gems of heavenly layered vocals and retro synth leads.” (STEREOGUM)
“Gritty, poppy, catchy and cool.” (THE LINE OF BEST FIT)
“Clocking in at just over three minutes, ‘Como’ is a classic pop song with a twist. Off kilter sounds and damaged synths collide with one another, while the pleading vocal hints at something rather more melancholic.” (CLASH MUSIC)

It has been a huge year for Yukon Blonde; touring a string of shows with Nate Mendel from the Foo Fighters, and his band Lieutenant, performing at the SXSW Music Festival, and gaining the support of Paste Magazine, Stereogum, Clash to name a few. Not stopping there though, the indie pop rockers have announced the release of ‘On Blonde’, their eagerly awaited new album. Produced by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Sleepy Sun) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck, Foster The People) it is no surprise that ‘On Blonde’ is arguably their most accomplished album to date.
“It’s a more dynamic and more visceral album than our previous records,” explains frontman Jeff Innes. “We were more ambitious writing ‘On Blonde’ so it’s sort of ironic that in experimenting we created a more accessible record than ever before.”
On Blonde builds on Yukon Blonde’s reputation for seamlessly crafted pop songs with infectious melodies and hooks, all the while experimenting with psychedelic, digital and synthetic sounds.
‘Como’ is the upcoming new single, which is all about feel good indie-pop on a summer night in the city. With its ethereal harmonies reminiscent of The Shins, combined with the perfect blend of electro pop rock exultation, this song would massively appeal to the fans of The Cure. Somehow managing to fuse together the post-unique edginess of the 80s with the straight up garage rock of The Strokes, the result speaks for itself! Yukon Blonde have created a song that has its roots in the synth pop beats, and its leaves in à la mode psychedelic indie rock. ‘Como’ possess a sonic spectrum all across the board, starting with analogue synths, all through the Moog saw tooth leads, FM soft pads until they reach the classic wiry, stabbing and jangly guitars.
One of many great tracks on the new record, ‘Como’ will be available on the Yukon Blonde’s new album ‘On Blonde’ everywhere from June 16th 2015.
