Tigmus (This Is Good Music) is a new website that gives musicians and their teams the power to book better gigs.

It was set up by Oli Steadman and Tom Hodgson, both musicians with UK indie folk band Stornoway (of recent Top 20 success with latest album Bonxie), as a way to help musicians find the best venues to play in and, ultimately, make a living from live music.

With a wealth of individual and traditional venues available – Tigmus has the largest searchable database of venues in the UK – an artist can choose whether to play a pub, church or living room.

Putting a focus on autonomy, transparency and collaboration, after choosing a venue on Tigmus, artists, their managers, agents and promoters, can set their own fee and entry price, monitor ticket sales and connect with fans direct.

Artists can create profiles and seamlessly partner with other bands to put on the best shows. Tigmus is a growing community that has hosted over 80 shows across UK and Europe and on average, artists earn 30% more and fans pay 30% less when using Tigmus.

You can find out a little more by watching this video and by visiting the website.

Tigmus have also started to film their own sessions – watch a recent session with the acclaimed Songhoy Blues here.

Additionally, Tigmus will host a party at this week’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton on Saturday 16th May alongside Killing Moon with performances from Hippo Campus, Tora, The Half Earth and two very special guests to be announced. Full info can be found here.
