Vomitface share the self-depricating punk anthem “Never Make It” on Vice

“Another Bad Year” EP for May 12th via Boxing Clever Records

Vomitface announce West Coast tour dates + Brooklyn album release show

Jersey City’s Vomitface are sharing their new single “Never Make It,” the first song to be taken from the quintet’s upcoming EP, Another Bad Year. Due out May 12th via Boxing Clever Records (pre-order), the album’s lead single made it’s debut via Vice, who described the band as “a bass-heavy noise rock band that makes weird angular songs that manage to be heavy without sacrificing any melodic hooks” and that’s only scraping at the surface of trio’s sludge pop influenced noise punk. After a busy year of DIY shows throughout New York and New Jersey’s underground scenes, Vomitface headed back into the studio to record their sophomore EP, a collection of corrosive punk songs borrowing from garage rock, avant-grunge, noise pop, and the band’s self described “black surf”. Another Bad Year is pop brutalism. The songs are deceptively catchy, smart, and delivered with a furious sardonic attitude and self deprecating smirk.

Every wall of crushing low end and layered burst of noise is matched by big hooks and infectious pop songwriting, a balance that Vomitface has molded into perfection, soaring between loud and quiet dynamics within the blink of an eye. Another Bad Year most definitely rips… it’s chaotic, sarcastic, and loaded with fuzzy distortion, but most of all.. the songs are catchy and accessible as the melodies cut through the noise to create big and memorable hooks within the carnage.

When asked about “Never Make It,” vocalist/guitarist Jared Micah offered:

“‘Never Make It’ was composed and recorded in a single weekend with the rest of the EP. It basically summarizes the defeatist-verging-on-desperate attitude that runs throughout the EP. Sometimes a hole in the ground seems like the best option.”
