– SHARES NEW VIDEO ‘WASTING’ FEAT. ROBERT FORSTER
– UK TOUR DATES THIS MAY

– ALBUM ‘DEEPER’ OUT NOW VIA CAPTURED TRACKS

“…it’s every bit as unyielding as Soft Moon’s previous work, mercilessly driving forward to a coda of warping synth shrieks, Vasquez emerging out of the black hole into white noise.” – Pitchfork
“Heavy doses of post-punk and goth” – FACT
“Relentlessly industrial” – DIY
“The Soft Moon makes the kind of high-strung and anxious industrial tracks that could soundtrack a mental breakdown or a walk through midtown” – Stereogum
“The Soft Moon is this fascinating mix of no-wave, industrial aggrotech, and heavy bass, with eerie whispered vocals that lend a sense of emotional detachment.” – Rookie Magazine
“Accomplished, impeccably crafted and resolutely forward-looking.” – The Quietus
‘Such vicious, delicious abandon” 8/10 – NME

Last week, The Soft Moon released his third album ‘Deeper’ via Captured Tracks. Today he shares the video for ‘Wasting’ and the continuation of the tale that began with the video for ‘Far.’ The Soft Moon is set to play two UK shows in May, in London & Leeds.

Directed by Y2K, the video, which features Oscar nominated actor Robert Forster (Jackie Brown, Medium Cool, Mulholland Drive, Breaking Bad), represents an archetypal summation of the turmoil and torture raging within the character of The Patient, played by Luis Vasquez. The Doctor guides The Patient and his fellow Subject (Natalia Selevanova) on a hypnagogic journey into the interior landscape of the mind, a world fraught with tumultuous stroboscopic activity and unbalanced flashes of a brewing violence.

The voice of The Soft Moon has never been more clear and honest than it is on this record. With eerie, immersive tracks like the dogged “Far” and slow, beautifully melancholic “Wasting” (the first track written for Deeper), the album is a penetrating portrait of Vasquez as he wrestles thoughts of suicide, vulnerability and what it means to heal. By facing the most hopeless parts of himself without illusion and putting his past demons to bed, the creation of Deeper was an intense personal exploration of existence for Vasquez — old wounds were forcibly opened, deep anger and paranoia were manipulated into song — and he did not emerge unchanged. Deeper may have delivered Vasquez back to the waking world, but it willingly drags us further into The Soft Moon’s dark, euphonic universe once more.

The Soft Moon is on a month-long North American tour right now & immediately following that, he will head to Europe for the month of May.
