Following last summer’s début ‘Car E.P.’, JUNK. announce the release of their new ‘Liquorice E.P.’, which will be available to buy from Monday 4th May. It will be the band’s second release on Leeds label CHUD Records and will be available on cassette and digital download.

The four track E.P. is announced prior to a busy summer for the band, who have been confirmed for Indietracks and Sounds from the Other City festivals as well as touring dates in London and Leeds.

Ferg from CHUD Records comments on the release:

“We’re thrilled to be working with JUNK. again on this release. ‘Car E.P.’ was both the first release for us and for JUNK. so it’s really great to see how far they’ve come in the past year. JUNK. have cleaned up and grown up a lot on Liquorice but stayed true to what made us want to make them our début release. It’s pure pop song writing written for nobody but themselves.”

‘Liquorice E.P.’ maintains the lo-fi charm of ‘Car E.P.’ while sounding like a band that have grown together, both as performers and as a recording unit. As demonstrated on their début, JUNK.’s primary focus has always been to write high-energy pop songs, often bitter-sweet. They blend the vocals of Estella Adeyeri and Sam Coates, with Danny Barton manning the drums and recording process.

Having been together for less than a year at the time of recording, JUNK. have already received a large amount of air-play and media coverage, twice featured as one of DIY Magazine‘s track’s of the week as well as coverage in NME’s Radar section. In September 2014 JUNK. contributed to Art Is Hard’s Cassette Store Day tribute to Pavement’s seminal ‘Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain’, opening the album with their take on ‘Silence Kit’. They have continued to tour consistently with support slots for Happyness and The Lovely Eggs.
