“Reporters conjure a thick and guitar-heavy sound” – NME
“A wit and a scruffy-necked swagger that warrants it’s on place on the map” – DIY
Following their 2014 debut, Seen Leaving, Milton Keynes duo Reporters announce their second EP Only Noise for May 11th 2015 via their own imprint, Phret Records.
Capturing the spirit, zeal and electricity of what it is to be young, restless and yearning to break away in 2015, lead track ‘Only Noise’ sets the perfect introduction to the rising two-piece in barely three minutes. “I wanted to capture a youthful energy without it sounding clichéd or throwaway,” adds songwriter and frontman Dan Stock.
Recorded at Far Heath studios by Angus Wallace (The Fall, Spiritualized, Ian Brown) over a two day December session in 2014, the Only Noise EP sees Dan Stock (vocals & guitars) and Josh Ringsell (drums & backing vocals) channelling a sure sense of song craft into three feisty and uplifting tracks for two young men at just 18 years of age.
Having shared the stage with the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Merchandise, The Magic Gang, Dead Sons, Get Inuit and Slaves, Reporters will play London’s The Macbeth on May 2nd for their EP launch show.
1 – ‘Only Noise’
