Brilliant…a massive reminder that class is both timeless and incandescent” 8/10 – Classic Rock

The best songs they’ve recorded in a decade” 4/5 – Kerrang!

UK rock legends Thunder have returned to the Top 10 with ‘Wonder Days’, their first studio album in six years. No strangers to chart success, the band have amassed a string of hit albums and 18 Top 40 singles in their 25-year career, but ‘Wonder Days’, their landmark tenth album is their highest charting UK album since ‘Behind Closed Doors’ peaked at number 5 back in 1995.

It’s testament to their fervent fan base and the remarkable quality of the album that it staved off stiff competition from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Ne-Yo, Charlie XCX and Idlewild to enter the Top 10 on Sunday.

It has also been a huge hit in many other countries and received rave reviews from the rock media withRecord Collector describing its “Timeless quality… the band sound on top form”, Total Guitar calling it “Classy classic rock from a band who should have many more days ahead of them”, Powerplay declaring “It’s all about crunching guitar, strong melody and an exceptional vocalist” and Guitar & Bass stating “A great record [from] one of the finest British rock bands around”.

Says lead singer Danny Bowes, “We’re absolutely delighted with the way ‘Wonder Days’ has been received by both fans and the media around the world. To come back with a Top 10 album after six years away is so brilliant, it’s actually hard to believe. I’m covered in red marks where I’ve been pinching myself. We’re so fired up right now, the shows next month are going to be fantastic!

Lead guitarist Luke Morley continues, “The response to the new album is really exciting and to be honest, a bit unexpected. Going straight into the Top 10 after this time away just goes to show how loyal our fans are. We’re really proud of the album and the tour is going to be very special. It’s good to be back!

Continuing their renaissance Thunder are playing three of the biggest UK shows of their career next month, ahead of appearing as Very Special Guests with ZZ Top at Wembley Arena on June 24th, alongside a much-anticipated appearance at Download Festival and further European dates.

They are also releasing their first single from the album. ‘Resurrection Day was written by Luke Morley about the recovery of the band’s rhythm guitarist Ben Matthews from cancer and its positive message has fast become a favourite with fans and critics alike. It also showcases all the classic Thunder traits exuding a no-holds-barred pop prowess with the unmistakable vocals of Danny Bowes backed up by a master-class of rock guitar playing and a rhythm section at the top of their game.

The album ‘Wonder Days’ is the band’s first release with earMUSIC, one of Europe’s most successful independent labels, distributed in the UK by Absolute/Universal.

Thunder hit the road in March with dates in Leeds, Birmingham and London, with Reef and Tax The Heat as support.
