Brooklyn Record Release Show April 7 at Baby’s All Right

Athens and Brooklyn-based psych-pop quartet Kuroma will be supporting Tame Impala on tour this Spring, adding to an already busy April & May which features the band playing previously announced dates with Tennis and Ex-Hex (all shows are listed below). Kuroma is set to release their upcoming full-length Kuromarama on April 7, 2015 via  Votiv Music, and will celebrate that night with a release show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, NY, with Love as Laughter and Glyph City supporting. To aid in the celebration, all tickets for the Baby’s All Right show will include a copy of Kuromarama on either CD ($12 advance/$15 day-of-show) or vinyl LP ($15). Kuromarama is currently available for  pre-order via iTunes, with previously released songs “Love Is On The Way” and “20+ Centuries” available as instant grat tracks.  Tour dates with Tame Impala go on sale this Friday, March 13.  All tour dates with Ex Hex and Tennis are on sale now.

Kuroma came together out of the friendship of four individuals from different backgrounds and locations, united by their desire to make music with one another, common ideals, MGMT, Metallica concerts and…summer camp. The seeds of the band were first planted back at the tender age of eight when Camp Carolina talent show winners Hank Sullivant and James Richardson met and conquered with a fateful set of acoustic songs. They weren’t too shabby as a tandem whitewater paddling team either.

For Kuromarama, Sullivant recruited Richardson, as well as Simon O’Connor and Will Berman to round out the band.  Produced by MGMT’s Ben Goldwasser between the band’s hometowns of Brooklyn, NY and Athens, GA, Kuromarama is the result of a long road, and is a fully realized record carefully designed with subtle nuances, catchy hooks, garage rock abandonment and pure unadulterated pop splendor bursting throughout. This record isn’t quite the beginning, and it certainly marks the next chapter for Kuroma, a band with a long and winding history that remains driven and persistent throughout it all. The infectious sound of the band is sure to impress new audiences this Spring when Kuroma join psych-pop peers Ex-Hex, Tennis and Tame Impala on tour. Kuromarama is spreading!
