Athens and Brooklyn-based psych pop quartet Kuroma debuted a new track “Love Is On The Way” today via Spin off their upcoming full-length Kuromarama, which will be released April 7, 2015 via Votiv Music.  Spin called the upcoming album “excellent”, and explaining “Love Is On The Way” as sounding “like Scissor Sisters covering David Bowie’s “Up the Hill Backwards,” and just as delectible as that description would imply.”Kuromarama is currently available for pre-order via iTunes, with both “Love Is On The Way” and the previously released “20+ Centuries” available as instant grat tracks.

Listen to “Love Is On The Way”
Started in 2012 by Hank Sullivant, former bassist of The Whigs and current guitarist of MGMT, Sullivant had just finished recording his as-yet-untitled solo project.  When he slipped the compact disc of stuff he had just recorded into his computer, he was more than a bit surprised to find every track brimming with metadata. Artist: Kuroma.  Who was he to argue with serendipity?

For Kuromarama, Sullivant recruited James Richardson, Simon O’Connor and Will Berman to round out the band.  Recorded between the band’s hometowns of Brooklyn, NY and Athens, GA, the sound of Kuromarama most closely resembles that of an artisanal prescription spectrum of liquified jollyrancher, each flavor – each color – imbued with a solace wrung from the depths of a salty ocean trench.  Kuroma play refreshing, soul-satisfying music. Their sound is the sound a record needle would make if it traced the bottom of a rainbow’s grooves.

Kuroma recently announced April tour dates with Ex Hex, and are planning to tour heavily throughout the next year.  Already the band has curated an impressive resume, opening for MGMT, Tame Impala, Jarvis Cocker, Primal Scream, The Walkmen and The Whigs.  They have also performed at Bonnaroo, Montreux Jazz Festival, INmusic Festival, Moogfest and more.

Tour Dates:
4/23 – New York, NY @ Le Poisson Rouge^
4/24 – Boston, MA @ Great Scott^
4/25 – Providence, RI @ The Parlour^
