SIR RICHARD BISHOP COMES OUT OF HIDING WITH “SAFE HOUSE”,

NEW ALBUM TANGIER SESSIONS RELEASED THIS WEEK VIA DRAG CITY

This week Drag City are celebrating the release of Sir Richard Bishop‘s elegant and expansive Tangier Sessions.  Comprised entirely of improvised pieces, Tangier Sessions features Sir Rick’s focused guitar playing as a mortal extension of his other-worldly anatomy (fretting – and strumming-hands, specifically) Generating sensory illuminations under the spell of his recently acquired, ancient, and mysterious parlor guitar, each visceral strum and strike of guitar enlightenment on Tangier Sessions is smoothly rendered for an extraordinary listen.

Sir Richard Bishop’s reputation for generosity is well documented in his ability to squeeze any note or bent chord from the guitar on request, but wouldn’t you know, he’s never bequeathed a music video on his loyal serfdom? Enter “Safe House” – the first official Sir Richard Bishop music video. Shot on location in Tangier, the video is like a travelog through one of Morocco’s most storied cities. Each passing frame keeps quick pace with Sir Richard Bishops’s swift attack, every note expressed as though it’s on the run and truly in need of a hiding place. Assembled and edited by Robert Millis, “Safe House” is an audio/visual exploration of a place with deep meaning to the album, Tangier Sessions.
