New Northern label Mono have just released their debut; a limited edition, double a-side split single from Tessera Skies and Ajimal, encapsulating the originality, passion and ingenuity that will frame the label and set it apart from their peers.

‘Droplet’ and ‘Nothing Touches Me’ both deliver the innovative design philosophy of Mono perfectly and are well placed to be on the label’s first release. Droplet floats and skims beautifully across its liquid soundscape, with a mixture of layered and translucent instruments that ruminate with a gentle authority whilst the haunted Nothing Touches Me is one of dramatic expression, beautiful vocal melodies and lyrics.

The release was accompanied by remixes by Dutch Uncles, Lanterns on the Lake and shArds.

The 405, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, CRACK magazine and Crack in the Road as well as a large number of other hype machine blogs showed great support with great affection for its creative dynamism, emotive force and dramatic soundscapes.

Mono aims to produce collectors’ items through the collaboration of their own design and the creativity of the artist, allowing artists to create uncompromising music whilst giving them a platform that shares their ambition.

“This first release encompasses everything that we stand for and we are proud to be putting out Tessera Skies and Ajimal out on a format they deserved to be heard on.” – Mono

The release is now available on 12” heavyweight vinyl atmonoproduction.co.uk and downloads from Amazon/itunes
