Axel Flovent – ‘Beach’ OUT NOW on Trellis Records
‘Beach’ will precede Axel’s new E.P ‘Forest Fires’, which is set for release early next year. His fourth E.P overall, but the first to receive a worldwide release, ‘Forest Fires’ is an outstanding modern day folk record, and one that is sure to capture the hearts and minds of a wider audience outside his home country of Iceland.
Beach is an intricate composition, stunning from start to finish. This cleverly constructed orchestration is guaranteed to captivate any listener with its sincerity, it’s emotive essence and those delicate vocals.
Axel has unveiled the B-side to the release which is streaming below, prepare to fall in love with stunning folk reworking of Frank Ocean’s ‘Swim –
Hailing from the northern fishing village of Húsavík, 19 year old Axel Flóvent is a musician with previously modest ambitions. That all changed when ‘Beach’ appeared online – albeit in demo form –with word of mouth the only catalyst for over 22,000 Soundcloud plays in the short space of three months.
With one of those initial spot plays coming from Mat Hunsley – Trellis Records’ debut signing – a bond was quickly formed between Mat and Axel and then later Trellis, who loved Axel’s music so much they decided to offer him a record deal that would hopefully see his talents exposed to a whole new fanbase both in the UK and beyond.
And with a new and improved version of ‘Beach’ now set to see the light of day, recognition shouldn’t be hard to come by. From the tender, plucked opening notes to the stunning crescendo that brings the curtain down on this exquisite song, ‘Beach’ is a sign of things to come from one of the finest young singer-songwriters to emerge in years.
