Two Inch Astronaut Stream New Album “Foulbrood” on NPR Music’s “First Listen”‏

Two Inch Astronaut are sharing their jaw dropping sophomore full length, Foulbrood this week on NPR Music’s “First Listen”. The record will see a release on November 25th via Exploding In Sound Records and will follow the album with tour dates in December and throughout the 2015. Foulbrood expands on the dynamic promise of last year’s Bad Brother LP, offering bigger hooks, expansive riffs, and dazzling rhythmic fury that is sure to land the band among the year’s elite. Foulbrood is a definitive statement and Two Inch Astronaut are no longer anyone’s “best kept secret”. Foulbrood is spreading.

“This is heavy stuff, and through a striking mix of unpredictable arrangements, effective change-ups and whisper-to-scream dynamics, Two Inch Astronaut sounds both familiar and fresh, employing its D.C. influences to their fullest extent.” – NPR Music

“Two Inch Astronaut have had a crazy good run of singles in the lead-up to their new album: both “Foulbrood” and “Dead White Boy” made our five best songs list in the respective weeks they were released, and … “Part Of Your Scene,” a concise example of the band’s acrobatic ability to switch between five different moods in a song and pull off each one of them with gusto.” – Stereogum

The Colesville, Maryland based trio have perfected their warped and twisting post-hardcore, post-punk, post-feelings brand of indie rock since last year’s official debut, Bad Brother. That record, along with their previous self released EPs, set the standard for Two Inch Astronaut’s post-punk meets art rock influenced indie sound of carefully intertwined melodies, tangled chords and complex rhythms. Foulbrood ups the ante… way up. The riffs are heavier, the melodies are sharper, the hooks are catchier, and the songwriting has become increasingly more clever.

Two Inch Astronaut recorded the album at Warrior Camp Studios in Massachussetts as a duo, with Sam Rosenberg (guitar/bass/vocals) and Matt Gatwood (drums) once again working with producer Michael Siegel. The record was written as a trio with former bassist Daniel Pouridas, who recently left the band under friendly circumstances and remains a frequent contributor. Grass Is Green’s Andy Chervenak has stepped in as the band’s full time bassist, and their live shows continue to amaze all those who come across the trio.
