DUOLOGUE remix KAIROS 4TET ‘Narrowboat Man’

MOBO winning London jazz ensemble Kairos 4tet’s latest album Everything We Hold (out now on Naim) is an epic instrumental journey glued together by vocal collaborations which include Irish roots singer/songwriter Marc O’Reilly, UK soul legend Omar and Swedish jazz singer Emilia Martensson. Even better; the lyrics to all of these collaborations where written by British actor Rupert Friend, also known as Agent Peter Quinn from hit US drama series Homeland, who is an old friend of the band.

The original version of Narrowboat Man was a haunting, folky number augmented by the harmonium playing of pianist Ivo Neame and the dreamy vocals of Martensson, recorded at Peter Gabriel’s inspirational Real World Studios.

Internet-renowned for their intelligent >emixesNever Get Lost was released on 8th Sept. This brand new treatment of Narrowboat Man cherishes the folk of the opening bars and embarks on a hypnotic journey through future garage with hints of deeper, more progressive house – whilst retaining the core of Emilia’s spine-chilling delivery and narrative.
