NOTTINGHAM BASED DUO SHELTER POINT ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF 2ND FREE DOWNLOAD

‘CUT ME LOOSE’ PICKS UP RADIO SUPPORT FROM FROM ZANE LOWE, ANNIE MAC, JOHN KENNEDY & TOM ROBINSON

‘I went down a hole with Shelter Point recently and kinda listened to everything I could find online, and needless to say there is great music to come…” Zane Lowe

‘Throughout the track the instrumentation is softly textured, including pebble-like percussions and woozing synths projected over a rich bass line. Paced to an RnB slow shuffle, the dozed vocals and guttural oohs haunt the track with numbing placidity and colourfully descriptive lyricism.’ The Line of Best Fit

‘The pair mix delicate sounds with strong melodies.’ Wonderland

Nottingham based Robin Hearn and Liam Arnold started their musical journey in 2012 with the release of their debut EP ‘Forever For Now’ via influential British label Hot Flush. The four tracks demonstrated the duo’s ability to combine intricate sounds with strong melodies, a lush mix of dense soundscapes and textures, providing a perfect backdrop for Liam’s haunting falsetto. The soulful vocals drew comparisons to James Blake and their hazy style of electronica, rich with ambience hinted at the astral sounds of Boards of Canada and Mount Kimbie. After winning support from Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Tom Robinson and remixing the likes of MO and Laura Doggett, the pair spent time refining their trademark sound and the result is 2 new tracks, ‘Serenity’ and follow up ‘Cut Me Loose,’ set for official release via RCA sub label Space + Time on 6th October.

The pair are currently writing their debut album and have some exciting collaborations the pipeline, including a co-writewith Fink from Ninja Tune.
