“This is a band who have blurred the edges between genres, merged the sounds of various decades from the 80’s through to now and who have captured the essence of urban life in an armful of essential, unforgettable musical episodes” www.ManchesterMusic.co.uk

The Slow Readers Club are a Manchester based indie /electro band whose music ranges from upbeat indie to angry, introspective downbeat ballads.  Their critically acclaimed debut album, released in May 2012, received airplay on BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, NME, Q Radio, NME TV, Sky Sports, Soccer am and ITV, drawing comparisons with Interpol, The Killers and Arcade Fire.

The band’s innovative music videos have received widespread media attention with 2012’s ‘Block Out The Sun’ singled out to feature on Coldplay’s website.

2014 has seen The Slow Readers Club continue to build a loyal fan base with Peter Hook describing them as his new favourite band in a recent NME New Music Special and Steve Lamacq featuring ‘Start Again’ on his BBC 6 Music show.

The track is electro indie-pop at its finest; its dark undertones building to an infectiously uplifting chorus before plunging once again into understated minor chord genius.  Louder Than War has declared “2014 will see The Slow Readers Club on the edge of greatness”.  This looks to be an accurate prediction.
