Listen to ‘We Already Exist’
“We Already Exist,” an airy reverie that also bears Ek’s fingerprints, a woodsy, driving rhythm that’s bolstered by singer Lua Rios’ vocals, which sound like the stuff of Divine Inspiration” – SPIN
“Gold Lake are arresting from their name alone. In an era when guitar music fluctuates between dole- queue-realism and avant complexity, it’s re-freshing to hear something so effortlessly beautiful” – Clash
Brooklyn-based trio Gold Lake have announced a string of July UK dates, including a headline show at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and support slots with Midlake and Lucy Rose.
Gold Lake will headline Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on 7th July, before supporting Midlake in Halifax, Sheffield and Whitley Bay. They’ll also be playing an acoustic instore at Rough Trade West on 5th July, followed by an acoustic set, supporting Lucy Rose, at Kopparberg Urban Forest in Dalston on 6th July.
‘We Already Exist’ is taken from their upcoming debut album, ‘YEARS’, which was mixed by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Walkmen, Father John Misty). The track showcases the band’s organic, warm sound as the intricate riffs quietly gather momentum under Lua Rios’ silky vocals. Listen here.
The track was also remixed by The Helio Sequence, listen here. Watch the video for ‘We Already Exist’ here.
