Following the announcement of their June headline tour, The Family Rain are inviting fans to make their own mark on the tour by designing the exclusive tour t-shirt.
The winning design will go on sale as the official tour t-shirt, plus the winner will receive five t-shirts of the winning design plus tickets to any date on the tour.
Fans are invited to upload their designs to social media using the #thefamilyrain #badweathertshirt hashtags. Fans have free reign over the nature of the designs however they must include the words “The Family Rain” and “Bad Weather Tour”. The winner will be decided on May 23rd.
Drummer Tim Walter says: “We are really interested to see what designs people come up with. We have always designed our own t-shirts and wanted to see how talented everyone else is! It’s a competition I would definitely enter… if I wasn’t in the band.”
The ‘Bad Weather’ tour, will commence in Birmingham on June 6, and wrap up at Dingwalls in London on June 12. It will mark the band’s first UK tour for 2014 and their first date since February when they performed at the Garage in London as part of the NME Awards shows events.
The trio from Bath spent a large part of 2013 relentlessly on the road, knocking up over 200 shows and touring with Biffy Clyro, Jake Bugg, Miles Kane, The Courteeners, Deap Vally, and Darlia who supported the band on their last headline run in November.
Since their debut album release in February the band have been holed up in the studio with producer Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Band Of Skulls) working on new material. ‘Don’t waste Your Time’ is the latest single to be taken from the album. Due May 12th via Virgin EMI, this is a desert blues with a hip hop backbeat sending all the needles into the red.

The band recently returned from Shanghai where they performed at Burberry’s flagship store to launch the fashion brand’s new fragrance, Brit Rhythm. Following the upcoming headline shows the band will go straight into a busy festival season. They are also the face of campaigns for Marshall Headphones and Dr Martens due to commence over summer.
