New EP Negative Space released 30th September.
UK dates start 30th September
In celebration of another successful Canadian tour and ahead of imminent international dates and a Pop Montreal performance, Winnipeg’s Les Jupes have premiered a video for ‘Hold Me Down’, taken from their Negative Space EP.
After only a six months off to recuperate from touring and write a new album, Les Jupes recently returned from the first leg of a tour supporting their new EP, Negative Space to the west coast of Canada and back. They now prepare to perform at Germany’s Reeperbahn Festival before heading to the UK for a handful of dates and then back to west coast to start a tour in Seattle that takes them down to Los Angeles, over to Arizona and eventually up to Chicago and Minneapolis.
Produced by Rusty Matyas (Imaginary Cities) and engineered by Cameron Loeppky (The Weakerthans), Negative Space is the result of confident musicianship and discerning songwriting that is more focused on producing songs from the heart instead of the head. However, the four songs that make up the Negative Space EP are just the tip of the iceberg. Recording has already begun with Montreal’s Marcus Paquin (The National, Stars, Local Natives) for a full-length album to be released some time in 2014.
