We adore the fairly fresh and brilliant label gaining quite a reputation of Already Dead Tapes + Records.

A tape & vinyl label of small editions.
Already Dead Tapes is run by Joshua Tabbia and Sean Hartman.

The roots of the label were established from musicians using non-traditional methods to craft sound as art.
As a niche tape & art label Already Dead places high regard on projects of an experimental nature.

These people help make this happen:
Ray Jackson (editorial)
Rob Skrzynski (video)
James Duke (video)
Already Dead Tapes have a vast and delectable collection of releases as the label are currently working on the grounds of releasing one album a week. Pretty Impressive.

Adding to their long and loveable list of releases, comes the newest found in their 74th release MICROFL▼RSCNCE and their incredible 75th release found in Duncan Pinhas.

“Dear world, welcome to another world. It’s just as strange and curious, stark and wild as the one we live in. An international split between Micromelancolié (Poland) and Wolf Fluorescence (US), the album brings together noise and silence. With samples of jangly outdoor items, unusual sounds, and reverberated conversations, the songs sound like a brokencircuited residence of a lonely folk musician.” – Ray Jackson, Already Dead Tapes, 2013

“Robert Skrzynski, aka Micromelancolie, is an exceptional artist to me. He can sample almost anything and turn it into a work of art. If you’re the type of listener that falls for strange calm moods in soundscape music, like I do, “Owl Eater” is going to be your ideal afternoon companion. You hear almost everything that comes through your ears in a whole day’s time, from birds, vast church bells ringing, the soft sound that comes from the television when it’s turned on, to electricity and roosters in the morning. And they’re all so gentle, subconsciously helping create a peace of mind, that you strangely fall in love with every part of it. “Dry Run” is a piece that brings on nostalgia at first, but then it’s pure listening joy. Excellent sampled recordings, it’s perfect production work as well. Up to this point, I’m trying to figure out what the sounds that I’m hearing actually are, as mystery invades my thoughts. But at the end of the day that’s not the point at all, the whole thing has amazingly worked for me; I’ve already listened to it four times in a row and I still can’t get enough of it. It’s a release to be played at night, when there’s room for silence and soothing hours. And you certainly don’t need the perfect audio speakers and headphones to get into it, though something like it would definitely enhance the listening experience. All you need is an open mind, one that is willing to let sound guide it to places of possible wisdom, bringing on subconscious thinking. Breathing in, taking in the present moment, then letting it out along with a part of your existence.” – Jackie Farrow, Mystic Groove, 2012

“Slow melodic dreams, sometimes out of tune and sometimes creating it – this is the sound of Duncan Pinhas. It’s a
landscape of synths, drones, and a few plucks on the guitar. Residing in Paris, Pinhas makes compositions that would fit perfectly with any moving pictures or audiovisual shows. Listening to his new album you will hear volumes that escalate and a buzz that reaches distortion.” – Ray Jackson, Already Dead Tapes, 2013
“Son and “legacy” of Richard Pinhas, to whom this music owes a great debt… even though there was no wails of
feedback and it was not that fast, I kept thinking about Sonic Youth’s Daydream Nation.”” – Duncan Pinhas
