About My Fictions:

Cut from the same cloth of today’s most influential hardcore, My Fictions are a force to be reckoned with. They are unapologetically heavy. Deliberately tense. Manically varied. Though their influences number among acts like Pg. 99, Converge and American Nightmare, the family My Fictions has been born into is one that is revolutionizing the genre today. Since forming in Massachusetts’ Merrimack Valley in 2010, the band has shared stages with Circle Takes The Square, Loma Prieta and The Saddest Landscape over the course of a summer tour and several weekends.

2012 will see an added release to their discography (I Want Nothing, a split with Aviator and a 2011 demo). In the age of hardcore’s reinvention, My Fictions is among the frontlines.

Praise for My Fictions:

“Lowell, Massachusetts progressive hardcore quartet My Fictions are another band intent on pushing the boundaries of the term ‘hardcore’.”
-For The Love Of Punk

“[I Want Nothing is] intense but also makes sure to get across that this is a band of musicians.”
-Mind Equals Blown

“As a whole this material is certainly more crisply recorded and tightly performed than most bands that flirt with a “screamo” type of aesthetic.”
-Aversion Online

“Most heavy bands are going for some sort of precise, technological, coordinated strike; like a smart bomb. But how many times do you want to watch the same grainy footage, of some far-off, sudden destruction (powerful as it may be in theory)? My Fictions are more like a van full of dudes in goggles, each with a ball-peen hammer in either hand. The building’s coming down either way, but their crime-of-passion method is way more fun to watch.”
