Formed in November 2011, Outsiders have quickly established themselves as ones to look out for In the Bristol scene. With their debut gig supporting the math rockers Cast of Cheers being given on the evident promise of their rough live recordings, Outsiders have just released their debut single, “The Hypnotist”
Inspired by the post-punk melodies of bands such as Echo and The Bunnymen, Interpol and Magazine, Outsiders combines it with the energy of punk and dance music.
The Outsiders a promising upcoming five piece consisting of Alexis Jochman, Gareth Hughes, Andrew Rickard, Ben Cavanagh and George Paton. Already they are making a name for themselves throughout their Bristol. This newly formed outfit are providing a fresh outlook to a crowded genre. Circuit Sweet attended their debut live performance supporting The Cast of Cheers at Bristol’s Louisiana in March and unfortunately as we were interviewing the headline act we missed their Live performance. When we re-entered the room the crowd informed us of the Outsider’s success and their confidence. That confidence is shown throughout their new single ‘The Hypnotist’ which in itself is a hypnotising orchestration. With its infectious riffs and beats amalgamated with raw passion- a strong single from a rising talent.
This new single “The Hypnotist” was produced by Peter Rowe (The Kills, Brett Anderson) which combines their love of direct memorable melodies with a dreamy use of shoegaze guitars, with an infectious chorus.It is being independently released by the band on CD, coupled with an exclusive live recording of “Outsider”. A set opener with fuzzed surf riff statement of intent,“The Hypnotist” has been released for free download through the bands website and social media.
