After recently selling out the Camden Barfly for their first single release in almost 4 years south London’s most electrifying garage band The Fades follow up hit comeback single ‘Meccano’ with an ode to unrequited love on new track ‘Joy’, out 28th May on digital release through Genepool Records.
With its sweet melancholy and incessant guitar riff, ‘Joy’ explodes into a rampant heartfelt plea for lifelong companionship. The song is a short, sharp explosion of yearning, and is set to be blasting out of stereo’s this summer.
The Fades started recording new album ‘Ragnarok’ on their return from New York back in Nov 2010 after being inspired by the weird and wonderful experiences they had out there. The LP will be released later this year and the band will be touring extensively to support it.
The Fades will be playing with Les ‘Fruitbat’ Carter from Carter USM in his new band Abdoujaparov on May 17th at the Monarch in Camden.

“.. Takes post-punk to a whole new level.” Pop!blerd.com
“.. A strong release that plays like Combat Rock-era Clash with Lars Ulrich on the drums. Needless to say it’s very high on the repeat play factor.” thedadada.com
