Australia’s The Temper Trap have announced the details of their stunning and highly anticipated self-titled second album, ‘The Temper Trap’, due for release through Liberation Music on Friday 18 May.

The record will be the bands’ first as a newly-expanded five-piece outfit following the permanent addition of Joseph Greer on keyboard and guitar to the original band of Dougy Mandagi (vocals, guitar), Jonathon Aherne (bass guitar), Toby Dundas (drums) and Lorenzo Sillitto (guitar, keyboards). The album will feature 12 new songs recorded in Los Angeles with producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83, Phoenix).

The tracklisting for the new album is as follows:

1. Need Your Love
2. London’s Burning
3. Trembling Hands
4. The Sea Is Calling
5. Miracle
6. This Isn’t Happiness
7. Where Do We Go From Here
8. Never Again
9. Dreams
10. Rabbit Hole
11. I’m Gonna Wait
12. Leaving Heartbreak Hotel

A first taste of the record, in the form of album track Rabbit Hole, is available to stream online from today via The Temper Trap – Official Website. Fans may recognise the epic track from The Temper Trap’s live shows in 2010/2011. The first official single from the album will be Need Your Love, available to purchase from March 27.

The Temper Trap is the follow up to 2009’s critically acclaimed platinum selling debut album Conditions. Conditions was a long-standing Top 10 ARIA album and featured singles Sweet Disposition (2 x Platinum), Fader (Platinum), Love Lost (Platinum), Science Of Fear, and Down River.

Globally Conditions has sold over 800,000 copies, while smash hit single Sweet Disposition has sold over 2 million copies worldwide.

In 2010 the band continued to cement their success, winning two ARIA Awards and the APRA Song of the Year while receiving a nomination for ‘Best International Breakthrough’ in the Brit Awards.

Next week The Temper Trap will debut tracks from their new record before a live audience at SXSW in Austin, Texas, followed by a warm up tour of sold-out club shows in North America and UK dates announced today.
