Fights and Fires unveil new video for “You Can’t Say Slags On The Radio” taken from their 2011 album “Proof That Ghosts Exist”.

Fights and Fires emerged in 2008 when four friends from Worcester UK, tucked themselves away in their unconventional practise space (a disused meat refrigeration unit) to write some songs. The result was a stunning six track mini-album of chaotic, melodic hardcorePaying homage to their various influences: At The Drive-In, Rites of Spring, The Bronx, Husker-Du, Planes Mistaken for Stars and others, they have a forceful, thoughtful release of which they are justifiably proud.‘Will this be my Curse?’ was recorded at The Waiting Room Studios, Worcester by Jim Turner (Tribute To Nothing, Backwash, Klay, Second Monday, Resonate) in November 2008.The EP was met with open arms by the press, bands and crowds alike.They appeared in pretty much every major national magazine during the press campaign for the record.

2009 was a busy year full of shows supporting the release of the EP, playing with such greats as: Warship, The Computers, Tribute To Nothing, Glass And Ashes, Outbreak, Outcry Collective, Yashin, Dividing The Line and many many more… During 2009 the boys managed to tour across England, Scotland, Wales, Europe and all the way into Croatia all off their own backs.

2010 started well for Fights And Fires. The band headed to Outhouse Studios in Reading to record tracks for a video and a Lockjaw Records Split CD (released: 26th April 2010). Throughout 2010, Fights And Fires spent a total of 2 months on tour solidly in mainland Europe, taking in France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia. Besides hitting the road in Europe the boys toured the UK from top to bottom with countless dates all around the isle.

In October 2010, the band were playlisted for the video for Smoke And Mirrors on UK television channel Scuzz.

During November 2010 the band hit the studio to record their debut full length album (Proof That Ghosts Exist) with Dan Lancaster, Studio Glasseye (Lower Than Atlantis, Hello Mexico, Proceed). P.T.G.E was mastered at Westwestside Music by Alan Douches (Converge, Everytime I Die, Hot Water Music). Proof That Ghosts Exist was released through three labels in Europe (Lockjaw Records/Bad Mood Records/Granny Records) on Monday 16th May. Fights And Fires received brilliant feedback for the record, including features in Rocksound (with a track on the Covermount CD) and Big Cheese magazine and regular play on a number of shows on Kerrang! Radio.

2011 was the bands busiest year yet, taking them on 5 European tours, numerous UK tours and a stint to Ireland. As well as the touring the band played shows with The Flatliners, Into It.Over It, We Are The Ocean and Koji, to name a few. 2012 is going to be another hectic year for the band, who are currently writing a follow up album to ‘Proof That Ghosts Exist’ with studio time booked for April. The band currently have a full schedule until the summer taking them once again all over Europe.
