Cursive – I Am Gemini 12″ picture disc (Feb 27th – BSM)

Big Scary Monsters are absolutely delighted to announce the release of Cursive’s brilliant new album on limited edition 12″ vinyl picture disc here in the UK!

‘I Am Gemini’, Cursive’s seventh full-length and heaviest in years, tells the story of Cassius and Pollock, twin brothers separated at birth; one good, one evil. An unexpected reunion at a house that is not a home ignites a classic struggle for the soul, played out with a cast of characters that includes a chorus of angels and devils and conjoined twin sisters.

Recorded in Omaha, Nebraska at ARC studios with producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Minus The Bear, Isis) and mixed at Red Room in Seattle, Washington. Cursive is the longtime trio of Tim Kasher (vocals, guitar), Matt Maginn (bass) and Ted Stevens (guitar, vocals), with Patrick Newbery (keys) and Cully Symington (drums).

‘I Am Gemini’ is now available to pre-order on 12″ vinyl picture disc, hand-numbered and limited to just 500 copies! Pick it up at our webstore (http://www.bsmrocks.com/shop) and check out The Sun And Moon on the Rolling Stone website.

Matt Pryor – May Day CD/12″ (Jan 23rd – BSM)

‘May Day’, the new album from Matt Pryor, released via Big Scary Monsters on January 23rd.

Matt, who’s best known as the front man of The Get Up Kids, has been responsible for a host of incredible records over the past decade (15 full-lengths in total!) through his work with TGUK, The New Amsterdams, Terrible Twos and solo material under his own name, of which ‘May Day’ will be his second album.

Released on CD, limited 12″ (red/gold vinyl) and digital download, ‘May Day’ features 12 new songs, all recorded at home, as well as two bonus tracks (including a cover of Saves The Day’s ‘Freakish’!) as free downloads when you pre-order the record. Why not pick up an exclusive Matt Pryor, gold printed t-shirt from this webstore whilst you’re at it?

Matt heads off for the Where’s The Band? tour around the US in January with Chris Conley (Saves The Day), Anthony Raneri (Bayside), Ace Enders (The Early November) and Into It. Over It. Check out ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ and ‘Polish The Broken Glass’ at http://www.bsmrocks.com

Will Haven – ‘Voir Dire’ 12″ (Jan 30th – Holy Roar)

Holy Roar are the only label in the world to be releasing the new WILL HAVEN album ‘Voir Dire’ on vinyl, with retooled artwork by Jamie McDonald/Bear Face. Stream the whole record on our website now – http://holyroarrecords.com/#/album.php?id=1159.

Basically if you like detuned, epic hardcore or metal then you need this record in your life. It’s a fucking beast. And Chris Fehn of Slipknot is their bassist now! The first with original vocalist Grady Avenell in 8 years, on 3 exclusive colour vinyl pressings from Holy Roar. Limited variations are running low, so snap this up on preorder before you miss out!

Brontide – Coloured Tongues 12″ (Feb 13th – HR)

Instrumental post-math-rockers Brontide return 9 months after their stunning debut album (‘Sans Souci’) with a brand new track and a re-recording of a live favourite, housed on a clear vinyl 12″ limited to 300 copies. They tour in support of the release –

13.02 – Glasgow, Stereo
15.02 – Leeds, The Brudenell
16.02 – Bristol, The Croft
17.02 – London, The Lexington
18.02 – Brighton, Druids Arms (free entry)

This will be your last chance to see the band live for some time as they disappear to write their second album.

Crocus – ‘Our Memories Dress Me In A Dead Lust’ 12″/CD (Feb 20th – HR)

The debut album from the tech-screamo behemoth Crocus is finally here! Crocus? history lies in a classic screamo lineage that encompasses everyone from the intensity of p.99 to the epic melodicism of Daitro to the crazed, brutal schizo insanity of The Assistant. However, over time, this is a band that has grown ever more heavy, without ever losing their ?turn-on-a-dime? time-changes or melodic nature. We are talking classic rock riffage funneled through octave pedals and metallic distortion. Peaks, troughs and breaktaking undulations. Available on LP+CD (yes both in the same package) and Limited LP+CD. The band are on tour in support of the record –

17.02 – Album release show, secret location, Cornwall
18.02 – Black Heart, Camden, London
19.02 – Undertone, Cardiff w/Goodtime Boys
20.02 – Dorchester, Southampton
21.02 – Westcoast Bar, Margate w/Deafheaven
22.02 – Fighting Cocks, Kingston w/Pariso
23.02 – Croft, Bristol w/Deafheaven
24.02 – Little Devil, Tillburg, Netherlands
28.02 – Club Schilli, Ulm, Germany
01.03 – Sub, Graz, Austria
02.03 – Rehearsal room show, Vienna, Austria

Last Witness – ‘Mourning After’ 12″/CD (Feb 20th – HR)

Now is truly the time for the next chapter in Last Witness? career, with brand new album ?Mourning After? marking a significant and undeniable step-up for the London quintet. Set for release via Holy Roar on February 20th, 2012, ?Mourning After? is without a doubt the strongest, most ambitious, compelling and downright nasty Last Witness material to date – an iconoclastic mesh of crushing discordance and ethereal melody. A FREE release show is booked for The Old Blue Last, Shoreditch, London on Thursday 16th Feb with support from Prowler, Landscapes and Breaking Point.

Monolith/Nibiru (HR)

Look out for brand new 7″ eps from Monolith and Nibiru in March on Holy Roar. Monolith, hailing from Cornwall/Devon play technical, downtuned Meshuggah-gone-mosh. Nibiru, from Ireland, spew forth prog-grunge-hardcore. If that doesn’t sound incredible to you, then you need to start stagediving from your soul. More information on these releases forthcoming very soon!

Three Trapped Tigers – Numbers: 1-13 (Blood And Biscuits)

Last year TTT released their debut album ‘Route One Or Die’.
Leading upto that they released a trilogy of limited edition EPs.
EP in 2008, EP2 in 2009 and EP3 in 2010.
Having sold out the initial pressings, we’ve now remastered them and made them available once more on 1 disc.
They’re too fucking good to be forgotten!
13 numerically titled tracks mapping the 3 year evolution of the UK’s more forward thinking and adventurous band, which lead to last year’s critically acclaimed debut.
If ‘Route One Or Die’ is the masterpiece, then Numbers: 1-13 is the pallet it was painted from.

To celebrate the release of these early tracks TTT have announced a short run of intimate UK dates in March at which they’ll be playing the EPs from start to finish.

Veils – Clarity (Tangled Talk)

Veils? new EP Clarity is now available to pre-order! This is the bands debut EP proper, following an incredibly well received demo earlier this year. Anyone who?s heard it or seen these guys live will agree that Veils are one of the most exciting bands to have emerged last year. Clarity contains five tracks of passionate, emotive melodic hardcore on a single sided 12? vinyl (150 white, 150 black) with a limited t-shirt package also available. Clarity is released January 30th.

The Long Haul – Debtors (Feb 6th – TT)

The Long Haul?s debut solo release, Debtors is now available to pre-order! Since their split EP with Kerouac in 2011, The Long Haul have evolved their brand of passionate, bluegrass-tinged hardcore into something stronger and more significant. This is thought-out, intelligent music. Debtors is available on a single sided 12? on translucent green or black vinyl. Pre-orders come with an instant download which includes an exclusive, digital-only bonus track with guest vocals from Alex Pennie (Goodtime Boys)! Debtors is released February 6th.

Let’s Talk Daggers – Blankets (Jan 23rd – TT)

Let’s Talk Daggers have delivered their third EP, Winter! One of the most underrated band?s in the UK, Let?s Talk Daggers have always been impossible to pigeon-hole. Winter is no different, but amongst a schizophrenic blend of genres is some of the band?s most accessible and catchy (if you can call it that) material to date. By far the best thing they?ve done. Winter is available digitally or you can pre-order the CD from us now. Winter is released January 23rd.
