ACTION BEAT, CHEAP JAZZ (ALBUM RELEASE) VS ATC + CANTALOUPE @ The Old Bell [Must See Gig]

‘Action Beat’ are a semi-improvised band from Bletchley, they play noise rock with 2-3 drummers and 4 guitarists. Influenced by many bands, but predominantly; Sonic Youth, Glenn Branca, Boredoms, the EX, fugazi, Blag Flag et al…. Live shows are loud, clustered, and intense!

They’ve played close to 600 shows throughout Europe since 2004, supporting and touring with many bands, which most recently include: The EX, Thurston Moore, Glenn Branca, Battles, Fuck Buttons, Dalek, ZU, Joe Lally, Earth, Health, The field, Do Make Say think, Oxes, and countless others that I am forgetting. Action beat have toured Europe more than 20 times, and released 5 records on southern records, UK.

From 2001, till about 2011, They put on about 150 DIY shows in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, and also released a number of records under the name ‘Fortissimo Records’.
