2011 was another great year for The Jim Jones Revue. The band kicked off the year with the Big Day Out festival in New Zealand and Australia, were nominated for Best Live Act at the annual MOJO Magazine awards, played two US tours, which included a memorable performance on the Late Show with David Letterman. They continue to slay audiences, selling out venues across the UK and Europe, topping it off with a show at London’s prestigious Shepherds Bush Empire last Thursday, all in support of their killer ‘Burning Your House Down’ album. They have recently had some time off to begin writing new songs for an album to be released in the new year, but take to the road once again next month with a full tour of Australia. The icing on the cake came today, when the first nominees were announced for the London Music Awards for 2012 with the Jim Jones Revue being amongst them, and rightly so! Stay tuned for more news on the hardest working band out of London!
London Music Awards nominations:
“..the Rolling Stones’ early-Seventies murk with frantic barroom piano, guitars set at MC5-level distortion and Jim Jones roaring like he’s got Little Richard stuck in his larynx. Ignite your home with this.”
David Fricke/Rolling Stone
“We have seen the future of rock & roll, and it has sideburns….The UK fivesome’s relentless onslaught of cocksure menace and slavish guitars, led by the most commanding vocalist in many a moon, comes on like Elvis reincarnated with balls of fury.”
Paul McGuire/Entertainment Weekly
