ATLAS SOUND … Just awarded Best New Music on Pitchfork, Parallax is the new album from Atlas Sound AKA Bradford Cox (Deerhunter) and it’s on the shelves as of today. The whole album is currently streaming on the New York Times website and you can hear his entire set from Moogfest on the NPR website here. Like most things he touches, Parallax is “next level”. As Sunday Times Culture put it yesterday, “Perhaps like rust, Bradford Cox never sleeps… on this evidence, (he) is going to make one of the great albums of the decade… Stunning.”

THE BIG PINK … The Big Pink’s second album, Future This, is out in January and we can’t wait for you to hear it. More details to be confirmed shortly.

Today sees the release of the first single from the album, ‘Stay Gold’, which is being released as a limited 12″ with both artwork from celebrated graffiti artist Krink and a remix from Araabmuzik. The band are also playing a handful of shows this year including the Constellations Festival in Leeds this weekend, XFM’s Winter Wonderland in Manchester and supporting Friendly Fires at Brixton Academy. Their first UK tour proper is scheduled for February next year. They’ve also confirmed a low-key show at London’s Shacklewell Arms on December 9th. All dates here.

ST. VINCENT … In town this week, St. Vincent’s UK tour finally starts this Thursday with a sold out show at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. Last month saw Annie take centre stage for the latest instalment of the 4AD Sessions. You can view it here – If that doesn’t whet your appetite…! Read a fantastic feature in The Guardian here.

BON IVER … Recent winner of the Best Album accolade at The Q Awards (4AD’s second winner in a row no less), Bon Iver’s live show has been wowing Europe over the past few weeks, including two sold out nights at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and headlining the inaugural Pitchfork Festival in Paris among the shows. They finish up in the UK this week with Bristol on Friday night being the final stop on this tour.

Furthermore, there is a fifteen-minute show airing on Channel 4 this Wednesday night / Thursday morning at 1.15am, which gives an exclusive preview of a stunning filmed session they did in Air Studios, London.

THIS MORTAL COIL … “Immaculate boxset of canon-defining ’80s art-rock curation,” (Uncut 5/5)Next Monday (Nov 14th) marks the the long awaited release of the This Mortal Coil Boxset, a deluxe four disc collection of the band’s three albums plus a bonus disc of collected rare material. All remastered on HDCD, the discs come packaged in Japanese paper sleeves and printed to the highest standard by the Ichikudo company, along with inner sleeves and booklets. Extremely limited, this item is likely to sell out on release. Watch video trailer and read more here.

ZOMBY … After the critical success that greeted Dedication (his debut album for 4AD), Zomby sprang a surprise with the announcement of a follow-up record as soon as the end of this month. The Abeano site help us to succinctly make this point; “We wait ages for a Zomby record then two come along at once.” His records are serious stuff. Entitled Nothing, it contains seven brand new tracks and finds Zomby’s music pointed back at the dancefloor. Being pressed on a limited white 12″, Nothing is out on November 28th. You can hear the opening track ‘Labyrinth’ here.

GANG GANG DANCE … Earlier this year we released ‘Eye Contact’ from Gang Gang Dance, “their finest, weirdest, and most uplifting statement yet” (Pitchfork). The band return to Europe for a short run of dates with the only UK show being at ULU in London on November 23rd. If you haven’t seen their inspired 4AD Session, which was all filmed in an infinity room in the twilight hours, then you really should – here.

JOKER … Bristolian prodigious talent Joker finally released his debut album, The Vision, last week and the next single to be lifted from it, ‘On My Mind’, is out on December 5th. The 12″ featuring remixes of it from both Rustie and Goldie (as well as remixes of previous single, ‘Slaughter House’, from Tiesto and TC) and you can watch the video here. Joker has been busy all year DJing every weekend and will be playing at the UKF All-Nighter at London’s Alexandra Palace later this month (November 25th). Read a brilliant cover feature interview with him in Trap here.

MARK LANEGAN BAND … Today saw the announcement of the February 2012 release of Mark Lanegan Band’s first new album for nearly seven years. In keeping with previous album, BubblegumBlues Funeral is a simply brilliant rock record which further underlines Mark’s legendary status.

Mark and band will be touring the UK as part of a large European tour and included among the dates is a headline show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on March 13th. More information here.
