Montreal-based musician and producer Miracle Fortress (aka Graham Van Pelt) has released a nostalgia-inducing new video of 8mm-style footage taken from his North American summer tour (and a lot of basketball playing), using stand-out single “Miscalculations” as the soundtrack.
The track is taken from his sophomore album, Was I The Wave?, available now on Secret City Records (Diamond Rings, Plants and Animals). Lauded by Pitchfork, Nylon, and Exclaim! among others, the band continues to support the LP this fall touring Europe and performing at festivals including this year’s Pop Montreal and Halifax Pop Explosion.
Miracle Fortress toured across North America with Junior Boys this summer and the nostalgic video for “Miscalculations” captures the highlights and perfect moments of their time spent in between shows. Released this week in the UK and Europe by Republic of Music, Was I The Wave? is an album about alienation, anonymity, the desire for intimacy, and is the follow up to Van Pelt’s Polaris-Prize nominated debut, Five Roses.
