Mouse on the Keys.

October 3, 2010
Mouse on the Keys are a post-rock/jazz/soulfinger swaying immense fusion trio from Tokyo, Japan.
The group consists of its former members, “Nine Days Wonder” (a leading band on the Japanese post-rock scene) Akira Kawasaki-drum, keyboard and Atsushi Kiyota- piano, keyboards, along with Daisuke Niitome – piano, keyboards, who has played drums and composed music for funk/hiphop bands.
Last night, possibly by fluke, we managed to catch this amazing band live on the first of their 4 UK date tour. In the most surreal atmosphere jazzing up a phenomenal public gallery situated in a rundown ghost town on West Bromwich.
Their set just blew me away. One of the most extraordinary drummers I’ve witnessed, the band following 2 encores!!- Really know the key to holding a crowd and displaying their pure talent.
At their concerts, the band projects a variety of images chosen to match their sound ―views of Tokyo, geometric symbols, 3D objects, and abstractions. Residents of Tokyo, the members of Mouse on the Keys represent the haunting restlessness of their home city at their live appearances. They managed to transform a small theatre into a kind of virtual Tokyo.
Their Releases include- “sezession” released November 21st 2007 1st mini album release (Machupicchu Industrias)
