Get Terrified EP

Get Terrified is the latest release from indie punk rockers Itoldyouiwouldeatyou and over these four tracks, the band coarse through their uplifting and energetic tracks with a sense of relatable vulnerability that marked the songs all that bit more exciting.

The title track of the EP is initially a gentle song that gradually builds up to somethimg more abrasive without losing any of the bands tuneful vibe and is a track that is perfect to open proceedings with its vital nature.
Divine Violence follows with a quirky spring in its step that may seem at odds initially but really works well with the cutting and indignant lyrics and really shows off the songwriting brilliance of the band and the violent burst of energy that ends the song works perfectly. Mourn is less musically abrasive as Divine Violence but seems to occupy a similar plain lyrically but has an uplifting feel to it that showcases the power of the bands music and feels more and more cathartic as the song goes on and reach its fulfilling crescendo.

Get Terrified ends with a cover of Off Brand by NALA that injects an electronic ambience into proceedings and is a beautifully sublime way to conclude the EP with its dreamy beats and hazy atmosphere and in the process shows off the vast range of the bands influences and ideals.

This is an EP that is vibrant, touching and inspiring and one that will rightly gather a lot of attention for Itoldyouiwouldeatyou. This is a band who are not scared to shirk away from controversial topics and at the same time create uplifting songs that carry the message over with class and style and it shows just how far the band have come in such a short space of time. Itoldyouiwouldeatyou are definitely a band to watch.
