“A record that leaves no stone unturned, that wanders wherever it wants to go, unheralded and unrestrained… ‘Presents The Holy Strangers‘ might well be Hinson’s most astonishing work to-date.” Gold Flake Paint

Micah P. Hinson has described his new album as a “modern folk opera”. Telling the story of a war time family, going from birth to love, to marriage and children, to war and betrayal, murder to suicide – spanning all of the strange and glorious places life can lead. We follow their story, we see their decisions, we see their faults and their beauty. We live with them, we die with them.
Two years in the making, Micah wrote and recorded ‘The Holy Strangers’ in Denison, Texas, incorporating ancient reel to reels, analogue keyboards, old Tascam and Yamaha desks. The recording only entered the digital realm once pre-mastering took place.
Split across two pieces of the vinyl, the 14 tracks which make up The Holy Strangers are at times sparse and haunting; at other times luscious, maybe even euphoric.
The Holy Strangers covers a lot of ground over the course of its hour-long running time, appealing to both long-time fans and new ones alike.
Micah says: “After years of attempting to express exact emotions and stories of human existence, I struggled in knowing that The Holy Strangers would possess those qualities, or would delve any further into that exercise. Everytime I tried to veer away from these songs, or this message, I was pulled back in line. After finishing this project, even though I do not feel it is complete, or ever will be, I must be content in where this story took me. I am grateful in the fact that the spirit of music is still alive within in me, and still as unsettled as it ever has been”.
Micah will be touring Europe throughout September,  October and November with a full band.
