MARK LANEGAN BAND

Shares Andrew Weatherall “Beehive” Remix

New album Gargoyle out now on Heavenly Recordings

UK & European Tour Announced in June
inc. London’s Koko on 22nd June + Glastonbury Festival

Good times for MARK LANEGAN BAND. His tenth album Gargoyle was released to rave, career–best reviews last month and on Friday entered the UK album charts at Number 22. To mark the occasion his label Heavenly Recordings has shared a remix of current single ‘Beehive’ by legendary DJ / producer Andrew Weatherall.

Asked about the track Weatherall says: “I’ll be honest, when executing a remix usually the first thing to go is the vocal track. There are however exceptions. Mr Lanegan singing ‘lightning coming out of the speakers’ (or let’s face it Mr Lanegan singing full stop) is one of those exceptions.”

Mark Lanegan Band will be visiting the UK next month for 4 headline shows followed by an appearance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Dates/info below:

Monday 19th June – BIRMINGHAM – Library
Tuesday 20th June – GLASGOW – Garage
Wednesday 21st June – MANCHESTER – Ritz
Thursday 22nd June – LONDON – KOKO
Friday 23rd June – PILTON – Glastonbury Festival

Gargoyle picks up on the electro–noir of its predecessors… Lanegan is on daring and seductive form throughout.” Classic Rock – 8/10

Gargoyle has an early 80s UK electronic rock feel, with Lanegan’s rough vocal rasp sawing through musical timbres reminiscent of what was being played out at Manchester’s Factory.” The WIRE

A menacing Krautrock air pervades, with Nocturne a wonderful fog of driven reverb–heavy guitars, propulsive bass and Lanegan’s weathered vocals.” Long Live Vinyl – 4 Stars ****
