“Haunting vocals and clear, brilliantly-produced pop” – The Independent
“Honeyed riffs and nuanced ’80s pop touches, with gorgeous, vintage keys underpinning every move Mason makes” – The Line Of Best Fit
Following the release of her new EP, dream-pop soloist Lucy Mason has shared the new single, ‘Going Home Broke’.
The full EP ‘Going Home Broke’ not only reveals a new side to her songwriting but her subject matter too. The five gloriously produced Baroque pop tracks each tell a different story and whilst ethereal synth are allowed to wash over delicate keys, it’s Masons enchanting vocals that invite you into her world of honesty and heartache. These sublimely elegant tracks were produced by a variety of people from around the world including Ed Tullett (Hunger) and Jess Ellen in London (Feels like Midnight, Going Home Broke), Nik Karlin in Australia (Teenage Fire) and Andy Mak in LA (Latest Love).
Her earnest lyrics and unique style have already seen her receive critical acclaim from the likes of The Independent, The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland, Clash Magazine and many more, as well as rack up radio plays on BBC Introducing, Triple J and Amazing Radio and repeat invites to play for London’sSofar Sounds.
Further recognition came last month when Mason was invited to sing for The Queen at Buckingham Palace itself for the beginning of the annual traditional baton relay kicking off the Commonwealth Games, she performed alongside the likes of Cody Simpson and the event was covered across multiple global news outlets.
