WE WERE STRANGERS RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘UNFORGIVING WAR’

Manchester’s We Were Strangers have announced details of a new single, the moving and expansive ‘Unforgiving War’. A song that had long been abandoned, Unforgiving War was heard by We Were Strangers producer James Kenosha (Dry The River,Rhodes, Birdy) who insisted the track be recorded and thankfully rescued it from potential obscurity.

Unforgiving War follows on from opening statement ‘I Believe’, released last year, and described perfectly by the Line of Best Fit as being, “Slathered with strings, harmonies, post-rock soundscape motifs and more, We Were Strangers whip the rug from under you

A powerful piece of music that builds with musical and emotional intensity, Unforgiving War manages to feel both huge and expansive yet still close and intimate. “It’s about a journey and things coming to end…” explains Stefan, unwilling to give much more away as to not deprive the listener of hearing what he’s saying the way he intended to say it.

We Were Strangers is the work of acclaimed songwriter Stefan Melbourne. Unforgiving War will be released on the 4th November. We Were Strangers will be performing at Leeds’ High & Lonesome Festival on 19th November.
