FAT POSSUM RECORDS SIGNS ADAM TORRES

Fat Possum Records are proud to announce the signing of Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriterAdam Torres, whose new album, due in the autumn, will be his debut worldwide release.

Torres’ first album Nostra Nova was initially self-released in 2006. Over the years it grew from being a closely-held, sleeper favourite in the close-knit music scene of Athens, Ohio (a small college town where he lived at the time), to earning “cult classic” status following its 2015 US re-release. The album received praise from outlets including The A.V. Club, Stereogum (“a stunner”), VICE(“beautiful, melancholy tunes”), Popmatters, All Music Guide and Flavorwire, among others.

Torres and his band – comprised of Thor Harris (of Swans), Aisha Burns and Dailey Toliver – will head out on a run of U.S. dates in June, full dates here.
