HINDS
RELEASE VIDEO FOR “BAMBOO”
Out March 18th
Debut Album Leave Me Alone Out Now
Hinds released their stellar debut album Leave Me Alone on January 8th, and today the band share an amazing, self-directed video for “Bamboo.” ‘Bamboo’ flies like an arrow to the heart, with pure ‘60s pop sounds, an effortless cantering rhythm and guitars twanging with tremolo whilst Cosials sings “I need you to feel like a man when I give you all I am. I know you’re not hung-over today, you are classifying your cassettes.” It’s at once louche and infectious, insouciant yet defiant, and the perfect summation of the inimitable allure of Hinds.
Hinds – Ana Perrote, Carlotta Cosials, Ade Martin and Amber Grimbergen – have mastered a raw and playful sound all their own, and their no-holds-barred DIY attitude (‘nuestras mierdas, nuestras reglas’ or ‘our shit, our rules’) has only seen them go from strength to strength.
In just 18 months the quartet have gone from their first show for friends and family in a Vegetarian restaurant in their hometown of Madrid to a sold out show at London’s 1,400 capacity KOKO as part of their current World Tour. The band played a total of 133 shows in 2015, including becoming the first Spanish band to play a main stage at Glastonbury and the ambitious endeavour of 16 gigs in 4 days at SXSW. With a whole host of sold out headline shows across Europe, USA, Australia and more under their belt, 2016 will see Hinds play even more gigs to even bigger audiences as they continue to establish themselves as one of the most exciting emerging acts in the world.

“Hinds are great because of two crucial factors. They have bags of tunes and bags of charm.” – The Guardian (****)
“…all scratchy guitars, kiss-off lyrics and Phil Spector sonics.” – Sunday Times Culture (Debut of the Week)
“A concentrated shot of brattish indie psych…a total breath of fresh air” – NME
“Addictive, pure pop hooks…they know exactly what they’re doing” – Q
“This great garage-rock crew from Madrid folds decades of naïf-rock history into its craftily shambling tunes – from riff-scraping contemporaries like Ty Segall to early-1990s International Pop Underground stars like the Vaselines and Thee Headcoats, right on back to ‘Wild Thing.’”
– Rolling Stone
“These tracks show off what truly sets Hinds apart: Cosials and Perrote’s shared vocal responsibilities, which fit together perfectly… [Hinds’ chose to challenge themselves on their debut LP Leave Me Alone, and the decision pays off.”
– Pitchfork
“The first great rock album of 2016 is here!”
– Billboard.com
“Whether seeing Hinds live, or listening to their debut album, Leave Me Alone, one question always comes to mind: Can I join?”
