OBAKE TO PLAY LONDON ON 21ST JANUARY;
SUPPORT INCLUDES 11PARANOIAS AND ERALDO BERNOCCHI’S NEW PROJECT BLACKWOOD
 The commanding quartet Obake shall soon return to the Underworld in London (21/01/2016) for a one-off UK show, the very location where they turned heads during a debut headline show during Desertfest 2015.
  Obake have become known for infusing elements of ambient electronica, jazz, noise, math rock and plenty of groove into their deeply heavy frequencies – a distinctive style which was ever present on their 2014 album, Mutations (Rare Noise Records). They shall draw upon music from Mutations and their self-titled debut at the show, and fans needn’t wait too long for more news of their third album, which they are currently working on.
  Support for this show is stellar and includes 11Paranoias, Italian progressive math-rockextraordinaires Zeus!, harvesters of meaty riffs Zolle and Blackwood – a new musical group featuring Obake’s own Eraldo Bernocchi and Jacopo Pierazzuoli.
  About Blackwood – this is the place where all Bernocchi’s nightmares have relocated, a place where the smell of burning wood is omnipresent, and where scythes and ropes yield sparse comfort for any inhabitants. The forthcoming debut album from Blackwood As The World Rots Away shall be released on Subsound Records this year.  In the ritualistic Blackwood live experience, crushing doom riffs meet walls of deep down-tuned drones and earth-shaking bass lines. For maximum impact, Bernocchi (laptop and guitars) will be joined on stage by Jacopo Pierazzuoli (Obake, Morkobot) on drums.
Obake’s Live Lineup:
Eraldo Bernocchi: guitars
Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari: vocals, electronics
Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree): bass
Jacopo Pierazzuoli (MoRkObOt): drums
Obake play Camden, London’s Underworld on Thursday 21st January with 11Paranoias, Zeus!, Zolle and Blackwood. Doors @ 7pm, tickets £10 advance.

“Their sonic shadowplay blends marauding doom with velvet synths and operatically inclined singer Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari’s whisper-to-wail range.” – MOJO
“…switches between a doomy drone that descends into squeals as if a demon’s writhing in pain, and the ambient sounds of benign ghosts. It’s brilliantly unsettling.” – BIZARRE
“For all their awesome might, its Obake’s restraint which gives them their power.” – ROCK A ROLLA
“Yet more proof, if it were still needed, that heavy metal continues to throw up a sizeable chunk of the most forward looking music being released at the present moment.” – QUIETUS
