Watch brand new video for ‘Hexx

UK tour announced

Debut album At Hope’s Ravine released February 26th 2016

Glasgow’s Holy Esque have unveiled the intense and cinematic video to their track ‘Hexx’. Emotive and stark, the video is a brutal interpretation of young love, which perfectly complements the songs own vulnerability.

Director William Kennedy was inspired by films including Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession to create a work where emotional scars appear as physical trauma. He says: “A stream of really exciting and disparate images came to mind when I first listened. But I felt the track deserved a character-driven piece. I wanted the fear and the vulnerability in this video to feel real and so I drew on my own personal fears. The fragility of the human body is something that has always terrified me ever since I was a child. I wanted the corruption of the physical body to reflect the emotional trauma. We can see the main character losing control of his mind as well as his body.”

‘Hexx’ is taken from the bands forthcoming debut album At Hope’s Ravine, released February 26th 2016 via the bands own label Beyond The Frequency. The double A-side single ‘Hexx’/’Silences’, is available 7th December 2015. Ahead of the release of the album, Holy Esque have enjoyed support from BBC Radio 1, with repeated plays from Huw Stephens and Annie Mac.

Holy Esque have also announced a series of tour dates to accompany their album release, starting on April 6th through to mid May. The band have also been announced for 2016’s Great Escape festival in Brighton. Tickets for all dates go live tomorrow. Holy Esque’s final live date of 2015 will be at a very special hometown show at St. Luke’s Church, Glasgow on December 5th.

At Hope’s Ravine is available to pre-order now.
