NAYTRONIX

– SHARES NEW TRACK ‘BACK IN TIME’
– ANNOUNCES EUROPEAN TOUR DATES
– TUNE-YARDS’ NATE BRENNER’S SOLO PROJECT
– ALBUM ‘MISTER DIVINE’ DUE OCT 16TH ON CITY SLANG

Following the announcement of his new album, Naytronix (Nate Brenner of tUnE-yArDs) shares another slice of his soulful electronics with new song ‘Back In Time’. The album ‘Mister Divine’ is due October 16th via City Slang.

As the title suggests, the song is an ode to days gone by. Nate explains “This song’s about reminiscing about the ‘good old days’. Wanting to go back to a simpler time, but of course you can’t turn back the clock… and maybe it’s wasn’t so simple then either?  I wanted the song to have a relaxed feel to it but with a nice forward moving pulse.”

Naytronix’s latest musical offering sees him turning from the disjointedly funky party dance anthems of his debut Dirty Glow (2012, Plug Research) to surrealist stream of consciousness poignancy. Throughout ‘Mister Divine’, an arsenal of bright percussion underpins Nate’s tranquil vocals, complete with flickering synth sounds and a driving hook courtesy of Nate’s weapon of choice, the bass guitar.

The contemplative lyrical theme about the limits and boundaries of time are a natural choice for Naytronixas Nate Brenner has spent the last seven years on a joyous and disorientating roller coaster as one half of tUnE-yArDS. A surreal, continent-spanning, head-spinning, horizon-expanding journey, like an astronaut who travels on light-speed through the galaxy and comes home to find everyone else has aged, except for him. This album is a chance for Nate to regain his individual identity, taken at a slower pace & all on his own terms.

‘Mister Divine’ is hard to pin down periodically; modern themes fuse seamlessly with classic elements. There’s dub, there’s funk, there’s minimalist new wave, there’s jazz, hip hop and lots of electronics. More importantly there’s a lot of soul and warmth in these songs. Naytronix belongs to no musical microcosm other than it’s own, it’s own small tiny galaxy… but it’s expanding.

Mister Divine is available to pre-order now from iTunes (http://smarturl.it/misterdivineitunes) and on CD/vinyl (http://smarturl.it/misterdivinelabel).
