“When we were talking with Kevin about what to do for the split, one of the things he suggested was to cover different songs from the same artist. The Cure has been a band that I’ve always loved and I thought that we could both find songs that we could make our own. Admittedly I always gravitate toward love songs, and “In Between Days” is one of my all-time favorites.”
Devinyl Splits No. 3 is a part of Kevin Devine’s year long Devinyl Splits series. The series features Kevin Devine teaming up with six different artists throughout 2015. Every other month, Devine releases a 7” split with a song from him and a song from the other artist. The first two splits in the series have already been released. In January, Kevin Devine andMatthew Caws of Nada Surf covered each other’s songs on Devinyl Splits No. 1, Matthew covering Kevin’s “Fiscal Cliff” and Kevin doing a take on Nada Surf’s “Inside Of Love.” In May, Meredith Graves of Perfect Pussy released her first solo track “Took The Ghost To The Movies” through Devinyl Splits No. 2, while Kevin put forward a heartbreaking “Gießen,” a tribute to his old friend and bandmate Mike Skinner, who passed away in 2014.
Devinyl Splits No. 3 Tracklist:

1. Tigers Jaw – In Between Days (The Cure cover)
2. Kevin Devine – Love Song (The Cure cover)

Between the power pop melodies of early Saves the Day and the hard driving fold rhythms of Fleetwood Mac lies TIGERS JAW, a band who’s raw immediacy is infectious and intoxicating. Shimmering organ textures, chunky guitar chords, and male/female vocal harmonies show the Scranton, PA natives taking rural rock music from its legendary past to its vibrant future. Among the more innovative acts on Run For Cover Record’s star studded roster, TIGERS JAW have a profound musical purity that is as equally stirring in a basement of 40 people as it is in a club of 1,000.
