“Infused with ambition, Fairchild blend frenetic, post-punk inspired drumming with anthemic songwriting” Clash
“It’s an accessible sound with dreamy guitar lines and effortlessly smooth vocals that almost anyone can find something to like in” The 405

Fairchild have shared ‘Hot Rod’, the second part of their double A-side single ‘Hot Rod/Nom De Guerre’, out 22nd June via their label Canvas Sounds.

Originally hailing from Australia’s Gold Coast, Fairchild upped sticks to Manchester in February, where they’ve all split between houses and live within the same few roads.

‘Hot Rod’ surges forward with a heavy wall of sound and lingering keys, bringing a dark, brooding atmosphere. The band have also shared the live video for ‘Nom De Guerre’. To celebrate the release of the single, Fairchild will headline Servant Jazz Quarters on 6th July.

Both tracks produced by Catherine Marks (Foals, Wolf Alice) at Australia’s Luna Studios and mixed at London’s Assault & Battery Studios. Marks also worked on their debut EP ‘Burning Feet’ which was released in April 2014. They quickly followed this up with the self-produced‘Sadako’ EP in November 2014.

Having previously supported the likes of Flume, Neon Indian, Parachute Youth and The Griswolds, as well as also having toured through Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and North America – the band are fast building their live profile in the UK.
