Experimental rock trio STEARICA reveal their special guest artists and premiere ‘Shāh Māt’, their collaboration with Colin Stetson (Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Bon Iver) / UK Tour Dates
STEARICA are very proud to share the fruits of their collaborative efforts with acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Colin Stetson, who has also worked with such luminaries as Tom Waits, David Byrne, The Arcade Fire, Lou Reed, The National, TV On The Radio and Bon Iver.
Shāh Māt, the final track on the album, is a terrifying, primordial beast of a track that captures a sense of conflict and struggle at the most basic level. Listen here:
As with the rest of their sophomore album, ‘Fertile’, STEARICA took as their inspiration the uprisings of the Arab Spring and the Barcelona Indignants. “The album was born more or less consciously with the images of those squares filtered daily by the Western media front of our eyes.” – Francesco Carlucci.
For the track, Colin Stetson arranged and performed flute, french horns, tenor and bass saxophones.
The band is also very proud to announce that their friends and sometimes touring partners Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys) and Ryan Patterson (Coliseum) have also contributed vocals to the tracks ‘Amreeka’ and Nur.
The new album will be out worldwide on the 13th of April.
The artwork, by Albanian artist Moisi Guga, beautifully reflects the symbolic imagery of the concept of ‘Fertile’.
